I have been lucky to take 3 really nice trips recently. A one week trip around Taiwan, a one week trip to Bangkok, and a weekend trip to a hot springs up in Kaohsiung county. Although i have blogged a bit about my trip around the island, I haven't managed to finish my posts on Taidong.
I have added a new photo album on my trip to Bangkok. Bangkok was one of the most interesting places I have been recently, much of it due to the sheer shock of seeing SO MANY FOREIGNERS. It is, after all, a world destination like London, New York, or Tokyo. In London and NYC, however, it isn't clearly obvious by the look of a person who lives in the city and who is visiting. While Bangkok certainly has its expat population, it was still strange seeing so many foreigners in one place. Clearly, I have become accustomed to life in Kaohsiung. Taipei is much closer to Kaohsiung than Bangkok in this regard.
As for the overnight trip up to the mountains of Kaohsiuing county, it doesn't get much better than soaking in a hot springs in the morning with a view like this:
