A few days ago I was trying to upload a lot of pictures onto this site of when my sister was here in Taiwan. I spent a good hour on the whole process, and then Netscape crashed and destroyed all my hard work. Nothing to do. I haven't had the heart to try again.
I also haven't had much time, either. I have spent a lot of time recently preparing for my first trip back to the U.S. since I moved here over a year ago. Tonight is the big night. My girlfriend and I catch a midnight bus to Taipei, where we fly to Detroit (via Osaka), then on to Des Moines, Iowa. My family might be attending the Iowa-Wisconsin football game, so I don't know if there will be anyone there to pick us up yet, but after 18 hours of flying and 6 of bus travel, what is another few hours waiting?
The plan is to drive to Kansas City to pick up my return visa, then drive up to Orange City, Iowa to visit my extended family on the occasion of my grandparents' 70th wedding anniversary, then drive up to Minneapolis to see my sister and her family. A lot of travel, all said.
Just surfed in and found this really interesting place here. A lot of good stuff for everybody.
Go on like this and i will surely visit your site again sometime.

As a Taiwanese-American, I'm glad I found this site!
Congratulations, you got monkey-mail. (referring to post-election post) These GoOPtards prey on anything resembling a liberal view.
I went to Taiwan to visit my family... but primarily to escape the mess that Bush and the Jeebofascists are going to put upon this country. We got into some discussion on politics, and I can tell you this: No matter if you're a far-right-yet-pro-Communist hardcore KMT blue, or a hardcore pro-indy DPP green, WE ALL HATE BUSH. 阿扁 is just being stupid in thinking he can seek US help, as the Chimp is so far up the CCP's ass his nose is red.
Well, listening to Air America Radio's late-nite broadcasts in broad daylight kept me sane, too.
Only time will tell about how the re-coronation of The Monkey will affect the destiny of Taiwan. I would love to see your views on Taiwan politics, though. Aside from the purported fistfights, of course. ;)
Oh, and 苦瓜 is simply worthy... of my vomit. Bleacch. And be glad you didn't go eat at the street vendors at 雲林. *GAG*. At least I resisted getting sick on both counts.
